Special Education Teacher in Ringgold, GA

Step into a pivotal role supporting student growth and inclusion at a vibrant middle school in the Rossville, GA area. Two specialized educators are needed for full-time contract positions from August 2024 through May 2027, with critical contribution to either 6th grade Math/Science or 7th/8th grade ELA/Science co-teaching teams. These are inclusion/co-taught environments where you’ll collaborate closely with general education colleagues, fostering academic and social success for students with diverse learning needs.

What you’ll bring:

• Active GaPSC SPED Consultative P-12 Teaching Endorsement (required)
• Experience or enthusiasm for co-teaching and inclusive practices
• Skilled at creating differentiated instruction and supporting IEP implementation
• Comfort with student needs including Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, and EBD eligibility areas
• Strong communication, collaboration, and behavioral intervention skills
• Dedication to positive, student-centered engagement

What you’ll do:

• Support approximately 10-12 students per caseload, adapting as enrollment shifts
• Collaborate daily with general education teachers in dynamic Math, Science, and ELA classrooms
• Provide specialized instruction, accommodations, and behavioral supports within inclusive settings
• Implement and monitor IEPs, collecting data to drive instructional decision-making
• Participate in pre-planning (July 31 - August 4) and SPED training (July 29)
• Establish welcoming, structured learning environments with a focus on student dignity and achievement
• Engage families and multidisciplinary teams for holistic student support
