Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Strong understanding of special education laws, IEPs, and best practices
• Experience teaching in a self-contained classroom preferred
• Ability to foster social, emotional, and academic growth in students with a variety of needs
• Collaborative and flexible approach to working with paraprofessionals, therapists, and fellow educators
• Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver instruction tailored to students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Develop and implement behavior management strategies to encourage positive classroom participation
• Collect data and track progress on learning objectives and social-emotional goals
• Maintain accurate records and collaborate in the development and review of IEP documents
• Foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom culture for every student
• Communicate regularly with families, providing updates and resources to support learning at home
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training opportunities
