Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification in Arizona (or eligibility for reciprocal certification)
- Experience in a self-contained classroom, preferably with K-5 students
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Skilled in collaborating with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Familiarity with evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to create a supportive, engaging, and safe learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student’s needs and IEP goals
- Guide, mentor, and collaborate with a team of five paraprofessionals to implement classroom activities and behavioral supports
- Monitor student progress and maintain comprehensive documentation for compliance and reporting requirements
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages student growth and participation
- Work closely with general education staff and specialists to facilitate smooth transitions and effective interventions
