Make a meaningful impact working with students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. This full-time contract opportunity, located near Rochester, MI, provides the chance to enrich the lives of students with diverse learning needs in a supportive educational environment.
As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll collaborate with fellow educators, staff, and families to create individualized learning plans and foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere. The assignment runs from August 22, 2026, through June 6, 2027, and features a consistent Monday–Friday schedule totaling 37.5 hours each week.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for Michigan (or eligibility to obtain)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Experience developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong understanding of various learning disabilities, behavioral challenges, and effective strategies
- Compassionate, flexible, and dedicated to fostering student growth
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and support staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement tailored instructional strategies to accommodate varied learning needs
- Adapt curriculum content and teaching styles for accessibility and engagement
- Assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and report regularly
- Work closely with classroom aides, specialists, and administration to ensure positive outcomes
- Communicate clearly and regularly with parents and guardians to support student success
