Special Education Teacher | Rochester, Michigan

This contract position allows you to provide essential educational support to students with diverse learning needs. With a schedule beginning August 22, 2026, and ending June 6, 2027, you’ll work a consistent 37.5-hour week in a collaborative, resource-rich educational environment located near Rochester, MI.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education for the state of Michigan (or ability to obtain before start date)
• Endorsements in special education categories (such as LD, ASD, EI, or CI) highly valued
• Experience adapting curriculum and instruction to individual students’ needs
• Familiarity with developing and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other educators, support staff, and families

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized lesson plans for students with mild-to-moderate disabilities
• Assess students’ progress and adjust instruction based on academic and functional needs
• Develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date IEPs in partnership with staff and families
• Establish a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that fosters student growth
• Use data-driven decision-making to create interventions and track outcomes
• Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and ongoing professional development
