A rewarding opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in a separate setting classroom. Focused on ages 6-8, this contract position starts immediately and runs through the end of the school year. The daily schedule is from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, providing consistency for both students and staff.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with young students, particularly in elementary settings
- Understanding of a separate setting classroom structure
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to connect with students, families, and staff
- Patience, creativity, and a commitment to providing individualized support
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ needs
- Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
- Adapt lessons to accommodate a variety of learning abilities and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with therapists, teachers, and aides to enhance educational outcomes
- Engage families through regular communication about students’ progress and needs
- Maintain required documentation and participate in meetings as needed
