A specialized school in the Rockville, Maryland area is seeking a dedicated Middle School Math Special Education Teacher to join its educational team. This position will provide math instruction and individualized support to students with low- to high-functioning autism, learning disabilities, and other specialized educational needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, standards-aligned math instruction to students in grades 6–8
• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor student IEP goals
• Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Collaborate with special education staff, therapists, administrators, and families
• Provide classroom structure, behavioral support, and differentiated instruction
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff meetings, and professional development activities

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Special Education Certification covering grades 6–12
• Active Maryland Mathematics Certification covering grades 6–12
• Candidates who currently hold a Maryland Math certification and are eligible to obtain Special Education certification may also be considered
• Experience supporting students with autism and learning disabilities preferred
• Strong classroom-management, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
