Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher serving students across elementary, intermediate, and secondary levels near Rockwall, TX. This contract position begins on 10/19 and extends through the end of the academic year, providing a chance to make an impact and build lasting connections in a supportive community.
Your workdays vary in schedule by grade level, typically running from 7:30 AM to 3:50 PM, with teachers arriving 30 minutes before students. You’ll work a 40-hour week and handle caseloads appropriate to your area—self-contained/life skills/SLC classes average 8–14 students with two paraprofessionals, while those in resource/inclusion settings serve groups of approximately 20–30.

Qualifications
- Current Texas Department of Education teaching license
- EC-12 Special Education Teacher certification required
- Preference given to candidates with EC-6 or 6-12 Generalist/Core endorsements
- Solid experience participating in ARD (Admissions, Review, and Dismissal) meetings
- Committed to maintaining professional dress code policies and standards
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and support staff to foster an inclusive classroom environment
- Engage in ARD meetings to advocate for students and provide essential input
- Adapt instruction and materials to support different learning styles and abilities
- Maintain accurate documentation of progress and comply with regulatory requirements
