Special Education Teacher in Romeoville, IL

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification
• Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorders and functional communication strategies
• Familiarity with structured teaching methods and differentiated instruction
• Collaborative mindset for working with co-teachers, paraprofessionals, and therapists
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)

Responsibilities Include:

• Delivering instructional support in a self-contained classroom or co-teaching alongside general educators
• Creating and maintaining a safe, encouraging classroom environment
• Managing a caseload of up to 13 students
• Utilizing evidence-based teaching strategies to address student learning and communication needs
• Progress monitoring and ongoing documentation in accordance with IEP goals
• Engaging with families and multidisciplinary teams to support each student’s growth
