This contract opportunity runs from August 4th, 2026, to May 26th, 2027, with possible pre- or post-planning days included. You’ll work full-time, 37.5 to 40 hours per week, utilizing your skills and passion to help students develop life skills and independence. The district values both fully credentialed teachers and candidates with pending credentials eager to make a difference.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Special Education GaPSC Certification with content coverage through 8th grade
- Adapted Curriculum Endorsement, or willingness to obtain
- Consideration given to candidates with pending certification
- Experience with lower functioning, self-contained classrooms preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging, individualized functional curriculum
- Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support students with diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and a Registered Behavior Technician to maximize student engagement and success
- Track student progress, complete required documentation, and participate in IEP processes
- Engage in ongoing professional development and pre/post planning as assigned
