Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in an inclusive classroom environment. You’ll play a pivotal role for a small caseload (approximately 8–10 students) in PreK through 2nd grade, primarily working with first and second graders and some Kindergarten students. The group includes children with autism, significant developmental delays, speech/language challenges, self-regulation needs, and learning disabilities—making this a fulfilling role for educators skilled in differentiated instruction.

This contract position runs from July 29th to May 21st, 2027, including pre-planning days. You’ll work full-time (37.5 hours per week) during the school year, supporting and inspiring young learners in an inclusive setting at the elementary level.

What you bring:

  • Active GaPSC Teaching License with P-12 SPED endorsement
  • Dyslexia endorsement required
  • Experience working with elementary students, especially in an inclusive setting
  • Comfort in implementing IEPs and differentiating instruction for diverse needs
  • Familiarity with interventions for autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, and language challenges
  • Ability to supervise a student with a toileting goal (no hands-on toileting required)
  • Commitment to fostering social, emotional, and academic growth for each student

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction in a classroom inclusive of various learning needs
  • Adapt materials and teaching approaches based on IEPs and student strengths
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and support staff
  • Monitor student progress, implement targeted interventions, and maintain detailed documentation
