A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher skilled in supporting middle school students within an inclusive environment. This position spans from now through May 21st, 2027, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative co-teaching setting.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and active GaPSC SPED Consultative P-12 Teaching Endorsement is required
  • Experience working with students with exceptionalities including Autism, OHI, SLD, MID, and EBD
  • Familiarity with behavior intervention plans and inclusive education models
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities with general education partners
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive, adaptive learning environment for students transitioning to middle school or progressing through 7th and 8th grades

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Co-teaching 6th grade Math and Science and 7th/8th grade ELA and Science in an inclusion classroom
  • Managing caseloads of approximately 10-12 students per grade level, adapting to ongoing enrollments and withdrawals
  • Collaborating on lesson planning and accommodations to ensure IEP compliance
  • Implementing strategies for differentiated instruction and positive behavioral support
  • Monitoring academic and behavioral progress, maintaining robust documentation
  • Engaging with families and support staff to reinforce student growth and achievement
  • Participating in faculty meetings, IEP conferences, and school-wide activities

Benefits and Schedule:

  • Full-time hours, Monday–Friday, 7:45am–3:45pm (37.5–40 hours weekly)
