Special Education Teacher in Rossville, GA

This full-time, contract role begins as soon as possible and extends through the end of the 2026-2027 academic year.

This position centers on nurturing learners in the Special Education Pre-K program, where each day you’ll make a meaningful impact. You’ll work with students developing essential life skills, some of whom are non-verbal or have limited communication abilities, and who may need assistance with toilet training, diapering, feeding, and positive behavior support.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Georgia PSC Teaching Certificate with Special and General Education Endorsements for Pre-K.
• Previous experience with early childhood or Pre-K aged students, preferably in a special education environment.
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs), developmental milestones, and assistive strategies.
• Compassion, patience, and resourcefulness working with non-verbal children or those exhibiting unique behaviors.
• Collaborative spirit and effective communication skills with families and school staff.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction adapted to each child’s unique abilities and needs.
• Support daily living skills, including toilet training, diapering, and feeding assistance.
• Create and maintain a safe, positive, and structured learning environment.
• Implement IEP goals and monitor progress, documenting developmental achievements and areas for growth.
• Work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to create a comprehensive support system for each student.
