Make a difference every day by supporting young learners in an engaging Pre-K special education environment. This full-time contract opportunity is open for an experienced Special Education Teacher and will run through May 21st, 2027. The position is centered in a dedicated Special Education Pre-K program with students ages 3 to 5, each requiring individualized attention and support throughout the school day.

In this classroom, you’ll collaborate with other educators and professionals to implement individualized education plans, nurture communication skills, and encourage each child’s growth. Children in this program are typically in the early stages of toileting development, may need assistance with feeding, and often communicate non-verbally or with limited verbal abilities. A calm, patient approach and creativity are key to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where every learner can thrive.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid GaPSC Teaching Certificate with Special and General Education Endorsements for Pre-K
• Experience in early childhood or Pre-K special education settings strongly preferred
• Skill in adapting teaching strategies for varying developmental, physical, and behavioral needs
• Ability to provide personal care, including toilet training/diapering and feeding assistance
• Strong team player with collaborative, flexible mindset

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction and support to young students
• Provide hands-on assistance with toileting, diapering, and feeding as needed
• Foster a safe, structured, and positive classroom atmosphere
• Implement and monitor individualized education plans
