Special Education Teacher - Round Lake, Illinois

We’re seeking a dedicated educator for a self-contained classroom serving 8–12 students in the Round Lake/Beach Park area. This contract opportunity allows you to focus on individualized instruction and foster growth in a close-knit, empowering environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (Illinois)
• Experience working with self-contained classrooms or similar settings
• Passion for supporting elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Ability to create differentiated lesson plans and manage individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Willingness to participate in school training and contribute to a positive team culture

What You’ll Do:

• Provide daily instruction in a self-contained K–5 classroom (caseload of 8–12 students)
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators
• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to discuss progress and strategies
• Maintain a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
• Participate in professional development, including new staff training (timing TBD)
• Deliver services for the duration of the academic year (8/17/2026–5/28/2027), approximately 35 hours per week
