Special Education Teacher in Round Lake, IL

Make an impact early in a child's educational journey by taking on a highly rewarding role as a Special Education Teacher in a PreK blended classroom setting. This contract opportunity focuses on supporting young learners, ages 3-5, in a collaborative classroom with a general education teacher and dedicated paraprofessionals to ensure every student receives personalized attention and guidance.

Within a classroom capped at 18 students, you'll play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where diverse needs and abilities are embraced. Working hours are 7:45 am to 2:30 pm each weekday, aligned with the traditional school schedule – allowing valuable work-life balance.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching licensure/certification appropriate for early childhood or PreK settings
• Familiarity with IEP processes and ability to adapt instruction for a variety of learning differences
• Strong skills in classroom management, communication, and collaboration
• Previous experience working with preschool-aged children, preferably in an inclusive or blended setting
• Passion for creating accessible, differentiated learning experiences for young children

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, and assess individualized and group instruction for students with special needs, ages 3-5
• Collaborate closely with the general education teacher and paraprofessionals to meet the academic and social-emotional goals for all students
• Monitor student progress and maintain effective documentation in alignment with IEPs and district expectations
• Engage with families and multidisciplinary teams to foster open communication and ongoing support
• Promote a positive, patient, and dynamic classroom culture that allows every child to thrive
