This full-time opportunity offers a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week, allowing you to engage deeply with students and contribute to their academic and personal growth.

Qualifications:

  • Valid EMD (Emotional/Multiple Disabilities) license required
  • Previous experience in Special Education classrooms strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with accommodating diverse learning needs and developing individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially with paraprofessionals and resource staff
  • Ability to create a nurturing, inclusive, and structured classroom environment

Responsibilities:

  • Lead instructional activities for approximately 12 high school students, and a separate elementary classroom with about 6 students supported by 2 classroom assistants
  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's abilities and needs
  • Collaborate with classroom assistants, staff, and families to coordinate student development, support behaviors, and monitor progress
  • Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes emotional, social, and academic growth
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with relevant parties
