Special Education Teacher in Ruston, LA

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching credential
• Experience working with self-contained classrooms preferred
• Demonstrated understanding of strategies for working with students with ASD
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction for varying learning levels
• Outstanding communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to supporting individual educational plans (IEPs)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct classroom instruction and support to students with special needs, primarily ASD
• Develop, modify, and implement lesson plans tailored to diverse student needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
• Collect and report on student data, progress, and behavior
• Participate in IEP meetings, goal setting, and ongoing assessment
• Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
