Special Education Teacher in Saint Albans, VT

A new opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher eager to make a difference at the elementary level. This full-time, contract position runs from August 11, 2026, through June 15, 2027, and is geared toward professionals who thrive in supportive school environments and are passionate about helping students with mild to moderate needs succeed.

Key Qualifications:

• Current Special Education Teacher license with Vermont endorsement or eligibility for Vermont licensure
• Experience or familiarity with elementary school-aged children
• Strong understanding of best practices for supporting students with mild/moderate disabilities
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families, teachers, and support staff
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instructional support to students with mild to moderate special needs
• Develop and adapt lesson plans to address individual learning requirements
• Assess student progress and adjust interventions as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and other staff to facilitate integrated learning
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for each student’s educational plan
