Special Education Teacher in Saint Charles, MO

Two full-time contract opportunities are available for skilled Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. You’ll work weekday hours from 8:15 am to 3:30 pm, allowing for work-life balance, with a 30-minute lunch included each day. The assignment runs from August 17, 2026, through May 28, 2027 (pending any inclement weather adjustments). Each teacher will manage a caseload of up to 24 students divided between morning and afternoon half-day programs.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience providing direct instruction to students with diverse learning needs
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective lesson plans
• Familiarity with incorporating IEP goals into daily activities
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Collaborative approach to working with IEP teams and colleagues
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instruction to students in accordance with prescribed curriculum
• Design engaging weekly lesson plans that address individual IEP goals
• Create, implement, and monitor IEPs, reporting on student and goal progress three times a year
• Schedule and lead meetings with the IEP team, fostering productive communication
• Participate in PLC meetings and professional development sessions organized by the district and program
• Complete additional duties as assigned to support student and school needs
