Multiple full-time Special Education teaching opportunities are available for passionate educators dedicated to making an impact. These contract positions offer the chance to work district-wide in a supportive environment through the end of the 2026/2027 school year, with diverse roles ranging from assessment and center-based ASD instruction to therapeutic behavior-focused settings for students with complex educational needs.

As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll have the opportunity to provide individualized instruction, conduct assessments, create compliant IEPs, and play a key role in shaping the educational experience for students with varying disabilities. Positions include Assessment Teacher (with a focus on evaluations and eligibility determination), Setting III/IV Restore Program Teacher (providing intensive behavioral and academic support), and ASD Center-Based Elementary Special Education Teachers (working with students on the autism spectrum in structured learning environments).

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or closely related field
  • Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License, or eligibility to obtain
  • Demonstrated experience with IEP development and case management
  • In-depth understanding of IDEA and Minnesota’s special education requirements
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience within ASD, resource, self-contained, assessment, or therapeutic settings strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with PBIS, MTSS, FBAs, BIPs, and related behavioral frameworks is an advantage
  • Ability to support elementary and/or secondary students

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with student IEP goals
  • Conduct student assessments and ongoing progress monitoring
  • Work cooperatively with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions and classroom management strategies
  • Maintain strict compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Cultivate inclusive, supportive, and engaging classrooms
