Make a lasting impact in the lives of students by taking on a contract role as a Special Education Teacher in the Saint Francis, MN area. In this center-based elementary setting, you'll support a dynamic group of approximately 11 students (with slight fluctuations based on enrollment) as part of a dedicated educational team for the upcoming school years. The position offers a consistent 40-hour work week and a meaningful chance to support student growth through 2027.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Active Minnesota PELSB Special Education Teaching License (Tier 1 and Tier 2 accepted, Tier 3 and 4 preferred)
- Licensure in Emotional or Behavioral Disorders (EBD) required
- Experience providing direct, in-person support (virtual SPED positions are not available)
- Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills, especially in elementary settings
- Proven ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners and unique needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student
- Monitor student progress, adjust interventions, and collaborate with classroom staff and related service providers
- Promote a safe, supportive learning environment tailored to students with emotional and behavioral disorders
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, encouraging involvement and advocacy
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all state and federal special education regulations
