This full-time contract opportunity seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work with a close-knit group of 3rd to 6th graders in a center-based setting. Your expertise will help foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom, creating lasting positive change for students with diverse learning needs.

You’ll work standard school hours, committing to approximately 35 hours each week, from late August through mid-June. Enjoy the rewarding experience of collaborating with fellow educators, support staff, and families as you shape education plans tailored to a small caseload of around 10 students.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification in the state or eligibility to obtain it
• Previous teaching experience with elementary-aged students preferred, especially in special education settings
• Ability to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong communication skills for connecting with students, colleagues, and families
• Enthusiastic, patient, and adaptable approach to student learning and behavior management

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction, accommodations, and modifications to meet each student’s unique needs
• Develop and update IEPs in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
• Use creative teaching strategies to engage students and promote academic, social, and emotional growth
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing communication with families
• Maintain detailed records for compliance and progress monitoring
