Special Education Teacher - Saint Johns, Florida

Make a meaningful impact by supporting students with unique learning needs in a self-contained ESE classroom. This contract position offers the opportunity to shape young lives and work closely with a collaborative team in a welcoming school environment. The role is on-site only, with a primary focus on elementary-age students; other certification preferences can be discussed.

What You'll Bring:

• Valid Florida ESE certification, plus General Education certification in either K-6 or PK-3
• Solid experience as a lead teacher in a self-contained classroom
• Expertise supporting students of varied learning levels and exceptionalities
• Motivation to work in an inclusive and adaptive educational setting
• Fingerprinting clearance in Florida; understanding of AHCA Clearinghouse and JLA badge processes

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a self-contained Exceptional Student Education (ESE) classroom
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to students' needs
• Foster a nurturing, structured, and engaging classroom environment
• Collaborate with staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure student progress
• Maintain and monitor IEP goals and compliance requirements
• Adapt and adjust instructional approaches based on student data and feedback

Role Details:

• Contract runs from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027
• On-site position, serving one designated school (location provided closer to start date)
• Standard school day: 7 hours per day, 35 hours a week
• Virtual “prescreen” interviews will be scheduled for qualifying candidates
