Special Education Teacher | Saint Johns, Florida

We’re seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to work on-site in the northwest area, providing dedicated support for elementary-aged learners with diverse exceptionalities. This full-time contract role centers on one school location within the district, and offers the chance to hone your expertise while fostering positive learning experiences for your students.

Qualifications:

• Current Florida Exceptional Student Education (ESE) certification
• Valid K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification
• Proven experience in a self-contained classroom setting
• Thorough understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention strategies
• Commitment to meeting all credentialing, fingerprint, and licensing requirements prior to your start date

What you’ll do:

• Teach and support a self-contained ESE classroom, adapting instruction to meet a range of learning needs
• Develop and implement tailored lesson plans and behavior supports
• Monitor and assess student progress, contributing to IEP development and goal-setting
• Maintain consistent communication with families, related service providers, and school staff
• Foster an inclusive, engaging, and safe classroom environment
• Collaborate during school-wide initiatives, professional development, and team meetings

This role is fully on-site—remote work is not available. Contract dates run August to May, following the academic calendar, averaging 35 hours per week.
