This contract opportunity, starting as soon as possible and extending through December 18, 2026, offers a chance to work closely with a collaborative paraprofessional. With a schedule of 25-30 hours per week, you’ll have ample opportunity to tailor your teaching methods and help your student achieve academic and personal success.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in a 1:1 educational setting
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Skilled in collaborating with paraprofessionals and other educational staff
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- EL endorsement is a plus, but not required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, individualized instruction and support to a 5th-grade student
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the student’s unique learning needs and goals
- Collaborate effectively with a paraprofessional to maximize student engagement and progress
- Monitor student development and adjust interventions as necessary
- Maintain accurate records of educational plans, progress, and communications
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and confidence
