Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid special education teaching certification
  • Experience working with students in grades 2 through 6
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes and best practices for differentiated instruction
  • Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs for students with varying needs
  • Provide instruction both in resource and inclusive classroom settings
  • Assess and track student progress, adapting lessons as needed
  • Foster an encouraging and respectful classroom environment
  • Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and the educational team about student goals and progress
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning
  • Stay current on best practices and compliance with special education regulations and standards
