A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available to support an elementary social-emotional learning classroom in Saint Paul, MN. This contract role is ideal for an educator with expertise in behavior support and a passion for fostering growth in students with unique social-emotional needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 12 students primarily diagnosed with autism or emotional/behavioral disorders
  • Implement behavior regulation strategies and structured routines tailored to individual student needs
  • Develop and facilitate social-emotional skill development lessons
  • Collaborate with two paraprofessional staff members assigned to the classroom
  • Monitor and assess student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly
  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes positive behavior and academic success

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching licensure with certification in Special Education
  • Proven experience working with elementary-age students in a social-emotional learning or behavior support setting
  • Strong skills in behavior management, crisis intervention, and individualized education program (IEP) implementation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with paraprofessionals, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Patience, adaptability, and excellent communication skills

Location:

  • This role is based onsite in Saint Paul, Minnesota, enabling direct in-person support and engagement with students and staff.
