Special Education Teacher in Saint Paul, MN

In this contract position, you’ll provide invaluable support to a close-knit group of elementary students (grades K-6) within a school with a total population of just 100 students. This setting allows for meaningful relationships and a personalized approach to each learner’s needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current Special Education (SPED) licensure required.
• Candidates with General Education experience and a valid PELSB Licensure (T2-T4) are eligible, provided they complete the out-of-field form for SPED teaching.
• Demonstrated success working with elementary-aged children, particularly those with diverse learning needs.
• Flexibility and problem-solving skills to individualize teaching and foster inclusion.
• Strong communication and collaboration with fellow educators, families, and support teams.
• Commitment to fostering an encouraging, safe, and engaging classroom environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and areas of growth.
• Direct instruction, academic modifications, and behavioral support for a small caseload of K–6 students.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure all accommodations and modifications are met.
• Regularly communicate with families regarding student progress and needs.
• Track student growth, maintain required documentation, and participate in IEP and other team meetings.
