Step into a fulfilling contract position as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students in an intimate charter school environment. This onsite role, set for the 25/26 school year, offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in a close-knit learning community with a total student body of just 100. You’ll have the benefit of working with a small caseload of K-6 students, allowing for individualized attention and the opportunity to build lasting rapport.

Qualifications:

  • Active Special Education (SPED) License, or a General Education (Gen Ed) PELSB License T2 - T4, with special education experience (candidates with Gen Ed licenses may complete an out-of-field form to serve as a SPED teacher this academic year)
  • Experience, passion, or training in elementary special education settings
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to inclusive, differentiated instruction practices
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and adaptability

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
  • Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in both small group and one-on-one settings
  • Work closely with fellow educators, families, and support staff to foster an encouraging and supportive learning environment
  • Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and comply with all state/federal special education requirements
  • Serve as a compassionate advocate for students and their success
