Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity near Saint Paul, MN, as a Special Education Teacher serving high school students in grades 9–12. This full-time position runs from September 2026 through Thanksgiving 2026, with working hours from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM each school day. You'll play a crucial role in creating a structured, supportive learning environment that empowers students through effective reading intervention and the development of strong executive functioning skills.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Completion of a state-approved teacher preparation program specializing in special education
  • Valid Minnesota teaching license issued by the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board
  • Competency in Standards of Effective Practice and core Special Education skills
  • Licensure in specific area(s), such as Learning Disabilities, ABS, or EBD
  • Fulfillment of student teaching or practicum requirements
  • Preferred: Experience with high school learners, knowledge of reading intervention and executive function strategies, expertise in developing and tracking IEPs, and a collaborative work style

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support a caseload of approximately 16–20 high school students
  • Deliver targeted instruction in reading intervention and study skills
  • Coach students in academic organization, planning, and learning strategies
  • Collaborate consistently with general education teachers and support teams
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Ensure compliance with all Minnesota state and district special education policies and procedures
