Make a difference by supporting young learners in a specialized K–2 classroom focused on Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD). This full-time, contract role offers the opportunity to provide essential special education services in a high-support environment, collaborating with a dedicated team to guide students with significant behavioral needs. The assignment runs from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM).

Key Qualifications:

  • Current Minnesota Special Education Teaching License
  • EBD licensure strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience supporting students with significant behavioral and emotional needs
  • Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Expertise in behavior intervention, de-escalation, and classroom-level consultation
  • Effective communicator with strong team collaboration abilities
  • Experience in Level 3 behavior-setting preferred

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Background with K–2 center-based special education settings
  • Training or practice using PBIS, CPI, or restorative approaches
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed instructional strategies

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction in a self-contained EBD classroom for approximately six young learners
  • Provide instructional leadership and classroom support for students and staff
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and BIPs tailored to individual student needs
  • Work closely with school teams and families to foster student growth and well-being
  • Apply de-escalation techniques and promote positive behavioral outcomes
