A contract opportunity is open for experienced Special Education Teachers able to work onsite for the full academic year from late August 2026 through the end of May 2027. With eight positions available, you’ll join an energetic team facilitating special programs serving learners at all age levels.

Requirements:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching credential in Special Education: Developmental Cognitive Disabilities
  • Tier 3 or Tier 4 license required
  • Experience working with students in special education settings
  • Ability to effectively manage diverse caseloads and collaborate with resource teams
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Dedicated to fostering a positive learning environment for students with developmental and cognitive disabilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and small group instruction to students as specified in IEPs
  • Develop and implement effective instructional strategies and behavioral management plans
  • Maintain accurate student records and progress documentation
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Positions available at all program levels; three openings specifically at Sandburg Middle School (two resource, one RISE)
  • Maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Fully onsite assignment—remote options are not available
