Special Education Teacher - Saint Paul, Minnesota

A fulfilling contract opportunity awaits for a Special Education Teacher with a Physical and Health Disabilities (P/HD) endorsement. This on-site role runs from August 24, 2026, to May 28, 2027, offering the chance to serve a diverse population of K-12 students while collaborating with a dedicated educational team.

As a Teacher of the Physically Impaired, you'll provide itinerant support, offering expertise in curriculum modifications, classroom accessibility, and the use of assistive technology. You'll manage due process responsibilities, including conducting functional evaluations, writing and updating individualized education plans (IEPs), and monitoring student progress throughout the school year. You'll also collaborate closely with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and general education teachers to best support student needs.

Qualifications:

• Current Minnesota Special Education licensure with Physical and Health Disabilities (P/HD) endorsement
• Experience working with K-12 students in inclusive and special education settings
• Proficiency in conducting functional evaluations and developing IEPs
• Strong collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams
• Organizational and documentation skills for due process management

Responsibilities:

• Deliver itinerant special education support services to students with physical and health disabilities
• Consult with teachers and staff regarding curriculum access and adaptive strategies
• Implement and monitor individualized education plans, ensuring compliance with district and state regulations
• Recommend, support, and train staff on the use of assistive technology
• Foster open communication with families and school personnel to promote student success
