In this role, you’ll be working in a kindergarten classroom with a caseload of just 5-8 students. This setting III, center-based classroom allows you to build close relationships with students and tailor your approaches to deliver 60-100% of their special education services directly in this supportive setting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher licensure/certification (state-specific requirements apply)
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a special education setting
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and implementing them effectively
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Adaptability and creativity in modifying curriculum and strategies based on student needs
- Collaborative approach to working with classroom aides, therapists, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to individual IEP goals
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and update IEP documentation as needed
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and support staff within a team-oriented classroom
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and structured environment for students with varying needs
- Serve as a key point of contact for families and coordinate services with related professionals
- Participate in professional development to stay up to date with best practices
