Step into a vital educational support role as a part-time Special Education Teacher, working within a self-contained classroom setting. This contract opportunity is located close to Saint Paul, MN, and offers flexible scheduling options to fit your needs. You’ll work with a dynamic early childhood program dedicated to making a meaningful impact on young learners, supported by two experienced paraeducators in your classroom. As a valued educator, your expertise will foster student growth while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Tier 4 Early Childhood Special Education License required
  • Experience teaching in self-contained special education settings preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
  • Ability to be flexible, adapt to scheduling adjustments, and assist as a float sub as needed within the ECSE program

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction and individualized support to students in a self-contained special education classroom
  • Complete paperwork, attend meetings, and engage in planning during dedicated full-day sessions (Monday)
  • Coordinate and collaborate with two full-time paraeducators to implement effective instructional strategies
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and positive classroom environment for students of diverse backgrounds
  • Participate in ECSE program initiatives, provide coverage as a float sub when available, and help create enriching learning opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to compliance requirements

Schedule options include Mondays 8:15-4:15 & Wednesdays 8:15-4:15 & Tuesdays 8:15-12:15, or Monday through Friday from 8:15-12:15. This position may potentially become full-time.
