Special Education Teacher - Saint Paul, MN

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher working with students in grades K-2. This rewarding contract opportunity involves serving as a Developmental Cognitive Disabilities Teacher, providing individualized support for a caseload of approximately 10 amazing young learners. You’ll work full time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at a vibrant elementary school. The assignment is scheduled to begin at the end of February and extends through early June 2027, allowing you to build strong relationships and see your students’ growth over several years.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching license in Special Education
• Experience working with students with developmental cognitive disabilities preferred
• Knowledge of best practices in differentiated instruction and IEP implementation
• Positive, patient, and collaborative approach with students, families, and colleagues
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Create and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to foster an inclusive educational environment
• Conduct regular assessments to monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed
• Develop and maintain IEPs, ensuring compliance and active participation in meetings with families
• Support students’ academic, social, and emotional growth in a nurturing environment
