Special Education Teacher in Saint Paul, MN

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher serving elementary students in a supportive school environment near Saint Paul, MN. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work closely with a dedicated team, including paraprofessionals and an intervener, while managing a caseload of up to 10 students. From September 1, 2026, through June 4, 2027, you’ll play an essential role in helping students reach their potential.

Preferred candidates are experienced ASD teachers and must hold at least a Tier 2 Minnesota Special Education license (active and current, as required by the state). The school seeks educators who bring both expertise and compassion to their work, fostering a nurturing and inclusive classroom community.

Your role will include:

• Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
• Collaborating with paraprofessionals and the intervener to ensure effective support throughout the school day
• Creating engaging and adaptive curriculum to address a variety of learning styles
• Maintaining timely, accurate documentation in compliance with regulations
• Fostering open communication with parents, caregivers, and school staff
• Promoting an encouraging and positive learning atmosphere for all students

Ideal qualifications:

• Valid, active Special Education license from PELSB/MDE (required)
• Minimum Tier 2 license (required)
• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum preferred
• Previous work in an elementary school setting is highly desired
• Strong commitment to individualized instruction and student advocacy
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
