Make a daily difference as a DCD Special Education Teacher within an elementary setting near Saint Paul, MN! This rewarding contract opportunity offers the chance to have a positive impact on young learners in a Setting III program designed to support students in Kindergarten and 1st grade.

In this vital classroom, you’ll work with a small group of six students and provide individualized attention tailored to their unique needs. Your days will be dynamic and fulfilling as you foster growth in communication, learning, and personal independence.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher licensure in Minnesota
• DCD (Developmental Cognitive Disabilities) teaching experience strongly encouraged
• Demonstrated ability supporting students with personal care tasks (toileting, feeding, assistive devices, etc.)
• Skill in utilizing communication devices and implementing best practices for alternative communication
• Compassionate, patient, and able to build rapport with young children and their families
• Collaborative approach to working with paraprofessionals and related services staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction and support in alignment with IEP goals for students in grades K-1
• Implement individualized academic, social, and life skills lessons
• Assist students with daily personal care routines
• Maintain clear records, progress notes, and communication with families
• Collaborate with a supportive multidisciplinary team to maximize student success
• Create a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment
