This position offers the chance to make a direct impact in the lives of students in grades 9–12, providing specialized instruction and collaborating with a dedicated team of educators and support professionals.
You’ll serve a caseload of approximately 15 students, carefully designing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to unique learning goals. With a consistent weekday schedule—working 7.25 hours a day (plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch)—you'll play a key role in helping students reach their full potential in a supportive high school environment. The daily start and end times may vary but generally follow an early morning to mid-afternoon school day.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- Valid Tier 3 Minnesota Department of Education License in Special Education (required)
- Experience working with students in grades 9–12
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong ability to collaborate with related service staff and general education teachers
- Commitment to fostering positive relationships with students and supporting academic and social-emotional growth
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering direct instruction and support to high school students with diverse learning needs
- Monitoring and tracking student progress, updating IEPs as necessary
- Collaborating with speech, occupational therapy, and other related services staff
- Effectively managing a caseload of 15 students
- Communicating regularly with families and caregivers
