Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Completion of a state-approved special education teacher preparation program
  • Active Minnesota teaching license (PELSP)
  • Demonstrated competency in the Standards of Effective Practice and Special Education core skills
  • Student teaching/practicum experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience at the high school level (grades 9–12)
  • Background in reading intervention and executive functioning strategies
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and compliance
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of 16–20 high school students
  • Deliver targeted instruction in reading intervention and executive functioning skills
  • Support students in academic organization, planning, and learning strategies
  • Collaborate closely with general education staff and support teams
  • Develop, implement, and track IEPs; maintain compliance with state and district requirements
