Special Education Teacher | Saint Peters, Missouri

For the 2026/27 school year, the district seeks two experienced special educators to provide critical instruction and support to students with special needs in a well-structured, contract role.

Position Highlights:

• Full-time, consistent schedule: 8:15 AM–3:30 PM (includes a 30-minute lunch break)
• School year dates: August 17, 2026 – May 28, 2027 (subject to adjustment for snow days)
• Caseload: Up to 12-24 students, divided between morning and afternoon sessions (half-day program for each group)
• Collaborate closely with colleagues and the IEP team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certificate (or eligibility to obtain)
• Previous experience working with special education caseloads in a school setting
• Proficiency developing and implementing IEPs and reporting on student progress
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Passion for creating engaging, individualized learning environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality instruction to students with diverse learning needs
• Develop weekly lesson plans that incorporate and address IEP goals
• Adhere to the prescribed curriculum and differentiate instruction as needed
• Complete progress reports and goal updates three times per year
• Prepare and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Facilitate IEP meetings and maintain communication with families and team members
• Engage in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and district-sponsored professional development
• Perform additional duties aligned with program and district expectations
