Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching credentials
- Experience supporting students in grades 9-12, preferably in a high school environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of IEP development, academic evaluations, and specially designed instruction
- Strong skills in communication and collaboration with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies and transition planning is preferred
- Excellent data collection and progress monitoring abilities
Your Responsibilities:
- Manage a high school caseload, supporting students in grades 9-12 throughout the academic year
- Implement specially designed instruction within a four-block, A/B day schedule (each block is 90 minutes, with a daily prep period)
- Develop, implement, and manage IEPs; complete academic evaluations and ensure accurate documentation
- Collect data and closely monitor students’ progress to determine the effectiveness of interventions
- Establish open communication channels with families and collaborate with classroom teachers and district professionals to create a supportive learning environment
- Promote positive behavior and successful transitions for students through targeted interventions and planning
This role offers a consistent weekday schedule, running from August 2026 through June 2027. Work Monday through Friday between 7:10 am and 2:30 pm, supporting students who are in the building from 7:15 am to 2:15 pm.
