Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification
- Experience with elementary and/or middle school student populations
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress tracking
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to diverse learning needs
- Proficiency with classroom management in special education settings
- Effective communicator with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Previous contract or travel experience in education is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with students’ IEP goals
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress
- Collaborate with general educators and support staff to promote inclusive learning
- Maintain detailed documentation and reporting in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Utilize positive behavior supports to foster a productive classroom environment
- Communicate student growth and challenges with families and caregivers
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to overall program development
