Special Education Teacher - Salem, OR

This full-time, onsite contract position offers a unique opportunity for experienced Special Education Teachers to work with students across various caseloads and grade levels (K-12). Four openings are available, with assignments tailored according to your expertise and preference, starting September 9, 2026, and continuing through June 26, 2027.

Current needs include:

• A middle school life skills program serving 12 students with a blend of behavioral and academic needs, supported by 4 instructional assistants.
• An elementary K-2 developmental classroom of 16 students, 5 instructional assistants, focusing on foundational skills and functional routines, with several non-verbal learners.
• Two elementary-level positions within an intensive behavioral health center, serving grades 3-5 (13 students, supported by 4 instructional assistants).

Essential qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification.
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse learners across varying grade levels and abilities.
• Strong skills in adapting curriculum and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Ability to lead and collaborate with instructional assistants to foster a positive, productive classroom environment.
• Effective communication with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• A commitment to fostering independence, life skills, and academic progress.
• Onsite availability for the entire contract duration.
