Make a meaningful impact supporting students across K-12 as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant school setting near Salem, OR. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity runs from September 9, 2026, to June 26, 2027, and offers flexibility in location and caseload based on your professional background and interests. Multiple openings are available across a variety of programs focused on skill-building and behavioral support.
You’ll collaborate with skilled Instructional Assistants (IAs) in supportive classroom environments:
- Middle school life skills program—12 students, 4 IAs, combining academic and behavioral support
- Elementary K-2 developmental classroom—16 students, 5 IAs, focused on functional routines and foundational skills
- Two elementary vacancies in an intensive Behavioral Health Center—Grades 3-5, 13 students, 4 IAs, with a specialized focus on behavior intervention
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience with diverse special needs populations, including behavioral and/or developmental programs
- Comfort supporting elementary or middle school students; willingness to adapt to varying caseloads
- Strong collaborative skills and commitment to working closely with IAs and other support staff
- Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and maintain thorough documentation

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized instruction following student IEPs
- Foster a safe and supportive learning atmosphere tailored to each child’s needs
- Collaborate with service providers, administrators, and families
- Guide and mentor instructional assistants within the classroom
- Track student progress and adjust interventions as needed
