Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid state teaching credential in Special Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP process and ability to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Adaptability and a patient, empathetic approach to instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction to elementary students with varying learning needs, using evidence-based strategies
- Develop, update, and manage IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods to maximize individual growth
- Collaborate with general education teachers, instructional aides, and specialists to support inclusion and differentiation
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback to families and school teams
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student confidence and independence
