Elementary Special Education Teacher in Salem, OR

Key Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience teaching at the elementary level preferred
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and staff
• Flexible, creative, and patient approach when adapting instruction to diverse learning needs
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized instruction based on students’ IEPs in inclusive and/or pull-out settings
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and parents to support each student’s unique needs
• Assess, track, and report students’ progress toward academic and developmental goals
• Create a welcoming, structured classroom environment that fosters learning and positive behavior
• Participate actively in IEP meetings, staff development, and school programs
• Maintain thorough and organized documentation in compliance with school and district guidelines
