A Special Education teaching opportunity is available near San Antonio, TX, within a structured learning classroom (SLC) environment. This contract position is ideal for educators experienced in supporting students at the intermediate and elementary levels, particularly those familiar with the specific needs and structure of SLC settings.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and interventions to students with special needs in a structured learning classroom.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) according to state guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and other educators, to address students’ academic and behavioral goals.
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records.
- Support social and emotional development through targeted strategies.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification/license.
- Experience teaching in a structured learning classroom or similar special education setting.
- Ability to manage caseloads involving intermediate and elementary students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, families, and school staff.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Details:
- Location: Just outside San Antonio, TX.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with an unpaid lunch break.
- Weekly hours: 37.5.
