Special Education Teacher | San Bernardino, California

Exciting opportunity for a skilled Special Education Teacher with expertise in Orthopedic Impairment (OI) to support schools in the greater San Bernardino area. This contract position is full-time and ideal for professionals who enjoy a consultative role rather than direct classroom instruction.

As an OI-certified specialist, you’ll work onsite, collaborating with educators and staff to help districts meet the orthopedic impairment requirements documented in students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The focus is exclusively on consultation—no caseload of students, no direct student services, and you won’t be responsible for writing or coordinating IEPs. Your expertise will assist the district in ensuring accommodations are identified and implemented effectively.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher with a specialization in Orthopedic Impairment (OI)
• Experience as a Case Manager or consulting teacher (preferred)
• Strong understanding of special education regulations and compliance
• Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Comfortable attending IEP meetings and advising on equipment needs and assessment procedures
• Must be available for onsite services—remote work is not permitted for this role

Primary Responsibilities:

• Attend and contribute to IEP meetings strictly in a consultative capacity
• Provide recommendations for assistive equipment and adaptive technologies
• Conduct evaluations and offer professional guidance to staff supporting students with orthopedic impairments
