Special Education Teacher | San Francisco, California

Make an impact supporting students near San Francisco as a Special Education Teacher with a focus on mild to moderate needs. This contract opportunity is located in San Mateo, CA and runs from ASAP through the end of the school year. Full-time positions are available for two caseloads: one covering grades K-2, and another spanning grades K-5th. Supporting engaging, inclusive classrooms, you’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to help students achieve their academic and social potential.

Key Qualifications:

• Current, active California teaching certification in mild/moderate special education
• Previous experience in a school setting with K-2 or K-5th grade students preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress reporting
• Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students according to IEP goals in either a K-2 or K-5th grade setting
• Assess student needs and collaborate with educational teams to tailor instructional strategies
• Maintain accurate records and progress reports as required by federal, state, and local guidelines
• Foster an inclusive, respectful classroom atmosphere that promotes student growth
• Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and staff to facilitate student success
