Position Overview
Soliant Education is hiring several onsite PK-12 Special Education Teachers for the 2026–2027 school year in San Francisco, California. These contract opportunities begin in late August 2026 and support students across a variety of school sites throughout the city. Openings are available at the preschool, elementary, middle, and high school levels, offering a range of placement options based on experience, credentials, and district needs.
We are seeking dedicated educators who are passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences for students with diverse abilities. Multiple vacancies are available, providing opportunities to work with a wide range of age groups and educational settings. Candidates interested in travel assignments are encouraged to apply, as qualifying travel teachers may be eligible for tax-free housing and meal stipends in addition to their hourly compensation.
Available Credential Areas
We are actively hiring professionals who hold one or more of the following California Special Education credentials:
Mild/Moderate Disabilities Credential
Extensive Support Needs (Moderate/Severe) Credential
Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Credential
Teachers will be matched with assignments that best align with their certification, experience, and district availability.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a contract position for the 2026–2027 school year with competitive hourly pay ranging from $45.75 to $60.25 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and assignment. Eligible travel educators may also qualify for tax-free stipends for housing and meals when applicable.

Responsibilities
Special Education Teachers will provide specialized instruction and academic support while fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with individualized needs. Responsibilities may vary by assignment and grade level but generally include developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, monitoring student progress, and maintaining accurate educational documentation. Teachers will partner with families, general education staff, and related service providers to help students achieve academic, behavioral, and developmental goals.
Additional responsibilities include adapting curriculum and instructional strategies, managing classroom environments that promote student success, participating in IEP meetings, and maintaining compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations.
Requirements
Applicants must hold or be eligible for the appropriate California Special Education teaching credential for the assignment being considered. Candidates should possess strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills while demonstrating the ability to support students with a variety of learning needs across PK-12 settings.
Previous school-based experience is preferred but may vary depending on the specific position. Candidates must successfully complete the hiring process, including credential verification and all district onboarding requirements.
