Make a difference in the life of a young learner by providing specialized, individualized instruction as a full-time 1:1 Elementary Special Education Teacher. This contract opportunity begins July 2026 and extends through August 2027, with the potential for renewal based on performance. You’ll work within a school district setting, supporting a vibrant, non-verbal elementary student with Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI). Engage in meaningful, project-based, and sensory-informed teaching, Monday through Friday, with dedicated instruction and collaboration hours.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Credential for California
- Experience with elementary-aged students who have multiple disabilities and complex communication needs
- Strong background in adapted curriculum development and project-based instruction aligned with CA CTC Core Standards
- Expertise delivering visually adapted, sensory-friendly lessons
- Familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), social-emotional learning strategies, and Unique-Learning-Systems (ULS) highly preferred
- Collaborative mindset, eager to partner with BCBA, SLP, TVI, AAC Specialist, and OT
- Commitment to fostering independence, communication, peer interaction, and holistic growth

- Provide one-on-one instruction tailored to a student’s unique needs, ensuring a rich, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans integrating sensory, communication, and visual strategies
- Promote peer engagement, social interaction, and communication skills throughout the school day
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team for comprehensive support
- Maintain thorough documentation and participate in daily team meetings and planning sessions
- Support the student’s ongoing love for learning through creative, hands-on activities
