Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid California teaching credentials in Special Education with one or more of the following: Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Extensive Support Needs (Moderate/Severe), or ECSE
- Prior experience in K-12 educational settings preferred, but enthusiastic new graduates encouraged to apply
- Organized, adaptable, and prepared to serve in a dynamic urban school environment
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
- Positive, empathetic approach to providing differentiated instruction and behavioral support
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to meet student needs
- Create and implement lesson plans tailored to individual learning profiles
- Employ evidence-based interventions and behavior strategies
- Track student progress, complete documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster an inclusive, encouraging, and safe classroom culture
